OHS Alumni (Miliary Veterans) Volunteers needed.

The time to pass the torch is coming.

A little history of the  www.Ohsmilitaryvets.com and the Annual OHS Military Breakfast on the Saturday of the OHS Alumni weekends. (FYI…You must first register to view all tabs)

In  2014 a project was undertaken by a few OHS alumni both veterans and non-veterans to honor and remember OHS alumni who have served in the United States Armed Forces during times of regional conflicts peace and war. Today, the website contains the names of over 2100 Oneonta veterans who have served since World War II to the present with efforts continuing to identify those who attended OHS  and have military service.

Two members (B Townsend / OHS 66’ – USN  and C Fox / OHS 69 – USAF) both retired military and now  “Senior Citizens”  of the initial cohort that started this project and have continued the administration of this website and the logistics of the annual OHS Alumni Breakfast gathering for the past eleven years.

However, time has come for younger OHS Alumni veterans or non-veterans “to carry the water” and volunteer to take over. If not, the current operating website and annual breakfast (Next one in September 2026) may bring an end to what has become a legacy of remembrance and a gathering of OHS veteran brothers, sisters, and family.

If interested in taking over please contact OHS_Vets@yahoo.com

ATTENTION: We need your help in identifying over 2100 Oneonta community members veterans who served in WWII and we believe were also OHS alumni. We would like to know what year they graduated and or branch of their service and rank. They may be a relative, a past neighbor or someone your family remembers – just send us an email. (Please go to our OHS veterans by class year page and do a name or a WWII search)

Duty & Sacrifice

In honor of all Oneonta High School Alumni Military Veterans, all gave some, some gave all, in the service of the United States of America.

In 2014, a project was undertaken by a few Oneonta High School (OHS) alumni, both veteran and non-veteran. The purpose of their project has been to honor and remember all OHS alumni whom have served in United
States Armed Forces during times of regional conflicts, peace and war.

The project was first started with the support of OHS Alumni, OHS faculty and community members. Together they initially collaborated in the initial research to build the web site to honor Oneonta High School
Alumni Veterans.

The project continues and we need your help in identifying veterans who wish to be listed on the site. Anyone with such information may contact us via email at  OHS_vets@yahoo.com or the Oneonta High Alumni Association contact page to initiate the process of including the veteran on this site.
